My first taotaotasi expedition was in January 2026 for the Dominica trip. It was such an amazing experience. We met some great people on this trip who we now consider good friends. Phil does a great job planning everything from the stays, the food, excursions, and it was so convenient knowing there was a plan for us. He is intentional and knows the hidden, breathtaking spots that we wouldn’t know of. Aside from being a great guide, Phil has become one of our friends and I’m lucky enough to be going to Moorea on my second expedition with him in September!!
Taotaotasi Expeditions are the best! I’ve now been on two expeditions (Mo’orea and Dominica), and I’m already getting ready for my third. Phil and the crew are an absolute blast to be around, and they always make sure you’re having the time of your life and enjoying every minute of the experience.
One thing I truly love about these expeditions is that, although they’re ocean-focused, Phil always makes sure we get to explore the land and experience the destination as well. It really makes each trip feel like so much more than just an ocean expedition.
He also works with some of the most ethical and knowledgeable guides out there, which is a huge plus when it comes to having incredible wildlife encounters while making sure the animals are never harmed or unnecessarily disturbed.
I genuinely can’t say enough good things about these trips. Can’t wait for the next one!
This year I went on my third trip with Tao Tasi. My first was to Moorea in French Polynesia and it was so incredible that I didn’t hesitate to join again in Dominica and later in Baja California.
Phil is not only an amazing guide, but also a genuinely great person… groups are always amazing and I have made lifelong friends along the way. I would do every one of these trips all over again… definitely some of the best adventures of my life.
Philip at Taotao Tasi Expeditions is the real deal, from the moment I enquired about this trip with Sperm Whales in beautiful Dominica (January 2026) to the day I arrived Philip was hands on. He is truly genuine and nothing makes him smile more than to see the joy on our faces (his family for the week😁) The group is small but the adventure is large, first time I dropped in and swam with the whales it was epic! OMG! Have no words!! Every day out we swam with the whales and we were lucky enough to see them sleeping! His crew on boat are just as knowledgeable and friendly. If we were not in the water, we were on a hike to waterfalls a gorge and hot springs. Oh and snorkel Champagne Reef 🪸 you will just have to come to find out how this reef got its name. Our accommodations were cozy the food amazing(all home cooked). This adventure was pure magic and I made new friends for life, oh almost forgot the beautiful sunsets. Philip is one of the most authentic and genuine people I was blessed to meet. Looking forward to more adventures and Baja in 2027 for another epic trip.
